The
CCPL oversees a series of ongoing programs that contribute to civic leadership development and on-going discussions regarding specific public policy issues and concerns. These include the South Dakota Women’s Summit,
Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools, and the South Dakota Council for the Social Studies.
- The South Dakota Women’s Summit is a one to two day conference for women that promotes and explores leadership in public policy environments, health care, business, and nonprofit organizations.
- The CCPL serves as the South Dakota representative and promoter for the Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools. This program supports civic learning in schools as the most effective way to prepare America's young people for informed and active participation in a healthy representative democracy.
- Through the South Dakota Council for the Social Studies, social studies educators serve as leaders and preparers of future civic leaders and participants.
